In October 2019, Vintage Hospitality Group entered a partnership with Alabama Power to continue testing of the Freight Farm LGM model and more recently expanded the testing to the new Freight Farm Greenery. Since December of 2019, MGM Greens has operated our urban hydroponic farm in shipping containers allowing us to work within multiple environments to grow additional produce for a diverse crop yield for our restaurants right next door. Our smart farm is self contained, growing vertically and hydroponically without soil, getting its nutrition from water and light energy from powerful LEDs. Through climate controled components, plants can thrive inside the containers offering the capability to harvest fresh produce multiple times a week and grow 365 days a year. Vintage Hospitality Group is harvesting lettuces and herbs for our restaurants, Vintage Year and Vintage Café, as well as selling for retail at Renfroe's Market and Vintage Café.
